Giving Back to the Society
Hailing from India, I have seen how more than half the population of the country carry on with their lives. A majority of them do not have enough means to manage two square meals a day or provide for their children. To make matters worse, annual floods and other natural calamities have ravaged the length and breadth of this beautiful country leaving countless families ruptured and many more homeless. This is especially true for the part of India I hail from - the Northeast.
Growing up witnessing all this, I had promised myself that whenever I am finally capable, I will try my best to make a difference, no matter how small. Now, that I am able to make some money out of my photography, I want to give back to the country and its citizens. Hence, I have decided to donate 20% of all my sales and profits to Foundation for Social Transformation. Being a not-for-profit, apolitical and indigenous philanthropic organization, they work towards creating a just, peaceful and equal society for the various communities in the Northeast region of India.
So if you liked my work and decide to purchase any of my photo prints or calendars, you are not only supporting me as a photographer but also contributing towards making a difference.
